Nothing says summer is just around the corner like a margarita on the rocks! Those hot summer nights always seem to pass by easier with a margarita in hand. This summer (and honestly leading up to the warmer months) I plan on making a lot of these Drink Your Greens Margaritas, a fun twist on a classic margarita.
Who knew that those healthy cold pressed green juices that I have been meaning to drink more of pair so well with tequila and lime juice. The cold press green juice I used for this recipe (shout out to The Juice Press Inc located in Halifax) contains cucumber, apple, celery, spinach, kale, lemon, and ginger. The addition of the cold pressed green juice helps elevate the slightly sweet, crisp taste of the tequila. The Drink Your Greens Margarita is the perfect balance of health and guilty pleasure.
This drink is incredibly easy to whip up! With only five ingredients needed you can be enjoying this Drink Your Greens Margarita on the rocks in five minutes or less with a friend/partner. If you want to go the extra mile you can also chuck all the ingredients plus some ice into a blender, and whiz up some frozen margaritas to enjoy on an especially hot day.
To make the Drink Your Greens Margarita just add lime juice, tequila, cold pressed green juice, agave, and a pinch of sea salt to a cocktail shaker with ice.Β Give it a good shake (maybe put TSwift’s “Shake It Off” on and have a dance party). Strain the margarita over ice into two cocktail glasses. Garnish with a lime wheel if desired.Β
To save yourself the struggle of juicing what feels like an endless supply of limes, this recipe can be made using bottled 100% lime juice.Β
